I expect the Israeli government to do anything and everything to protect my family

I expect the Israeli government to do anything and everything to protect my house, to prevent my wife and daughters from being raped, and me and my sons from being murdered. If you think these are not likely situations, I suggest you look and listen to the stated aims of Palestinian leaders over the years and remember what victorious Arab armies have done to the losers of conflicts historically and recently. In particular, check out how Arabs (not Jews, not Israelis, not Zionists, Arabs) have treated Palestinians in various conflicts: Black September in 1970 (about 3,400 Palestinians killed), the Syrian civil war (117,000 civilian deaths including hundreds of Palestinians, read what the Syrians and then ISIS did to the Palestinians in Yarmouk), the Lebanese racial conflicts (over 4,000 Palestinians killed in the War of the Camps alone), the Fatah–Hamas conflict of 2006-2007 (hundreds of Palestinians brutally killed by other Palestinians). You might want to learn what victorious Arabs have done in dozens of racial conflicts in the region (you could ask the Yazidi women who became sex slaves, but you can't ask the children in Yemen who are dead from war, famine and cholera). You might ask homosexuals what’s it like to live under Hamas rule, or how many Palestinian women have been murdered in honour killings.

If you compare Israel and Gaza to a heavyweight boxer and a skinny school kid I suggest that you tell the skinny school kid not to throw stones at the heavyweight boxer because the latter’s patience is limited and is likely to hit back and hard. In the Middle East, we know that quickly the weak become strong and take full, full advantage of this (see the warped outlook of ISIS or Al-Qaeda).

There was a possibility before1948 to create 2 states in Palestinea Jewish state and an Arab state. For this to succeed it would not be necessary to ethnically cleanse anyone, there would be a state for each people. (At the start of the 20th Century, the population of Palestine was less than 700,000 and there was more than enough room to accommodate mass immigration.) The British authorities did not encourage the establishment of 2 states; the Jews openly accepted this; the Palestinian Arabs violently rejected any possibility of there being a Jewish state and started a war with a very clear aim: to ethnically cleanse the land of all Jews (I’ll spare you the racist quotes from the Arab leaders).
